About us...
We are a mum and daughter team based in Woking, Surrey, who have a passion for food, cooking and especially baking! Our favourite meal for a special occasion is afternoon tea - there is something wonderful about sampling mini morsels of deliciousness, eaten off beautiful vintage china, and washed down with tea, coffee or the odd naughty glass of Prosecco!

I was taught to bake at an early age by my mum, my aunts and my great-aunt, all of whom came from a long line of expert bakers! Although my architectural career didn't directly reflect my love of baking, I have always been involved in the creative arts, and never lost my passion for creating delicious food for friends and family. The resurgence of interest in baking during the lockdowns re-ignited an urge to take my hobby to another level, and with our daughter Alice back living at home having graduated from university, I thought it was the perfect time to start up a catering business - so Mad Hatter's was born!

Mum started baking with me and my twin brother from the time we were toddlers! I've always loved baking cakes, brownies and cupcakes, and got especially good at cake-decorating! I have made many celebration cakes for friends and family over the years, and my most ambitious project was making my uncle's wedding cake! Even while studying Product Design at Leeds University, I would bake cakes for my friends and house-mates. After graduating, I worked for some time in the hospitality sector, at events such as Ascot race-meetings, Henley festival and the PGA championships at Wentworth, which has given me good insight into the food and service industry - this has been really useful knowledge to bring to our catering business.
